A meeting of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in Geneva 21.09.22

On September 21, the founding conference of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) was held in Geneva, Switzerland.

The event was organized by the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Swiss Confederation. Representatives from chamber-member companies as well as government agencies from both countries were present.

Fuad Iskenderov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation, Muriel Peneveyre, the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Azerbaijan, Claude Haegi, President of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), Yusif Abdullayev, head of The Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), Maryam Almaszade, president of SOCAR Trading, and Rauf Khalilov, chief executive officer of ISR Holding spoke about the expansion of commercial relationships, chamber activities, and the cooperation between our countries.

Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Department of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of the Swiss Confederation regarding the founding conference of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Representative of the Federal Council on Trade Agreements, Swiss Co-Chairman of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Federal Council, Ambassador Ervin Bollinger addressed a congratulatory letter to the conference participants. The letter wished success to the work of the Chamber and expressed the support of the Swiss Government.

Presentations on the support systems for SMEs in our country by KOBİA, on the investment potential of Azerbaijan by AZPROMO, and on the interactive platforms and website of the chamber by SACCI took place as part of the conference.

The chamber's new organizational structure was then approved, the board of directors and new members were elected, the work that would be done within its framework in the upcoming period was discussed, and bilateral meetings between SACCI members from Azerbaijan and Switzerland were arranged.
