The requirements of the law on protection of atmosphere were brought to the attention of entrepreneurs.


A meeting aimed at educating entrepreneurs on the protection of atmosphere was organized at the "Baku SME House" by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR) and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).


About 50 entrepreneurs engaged in the industrial and catering sectors (restaurants, banquet halls) participated in the event, which was attended by relevant MENR departments.


During the event, the legal requirements related to protection of atmosphere were brought to the attention of the entrepreneurs. Samir Hümbətov, Deputy Chairman of the KOBİA Board, and Hikmet Elizade, Head of the State Ecological Safety Service, shared their thoughts, and specialists from the Ministry also made presentations. It was noted that according to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the protection of atmosphere," legal and physical entities are obliged to curb emissions into the atmosphere, ensure their neutralization, apply low-emission and waste-free technologies, and comply with the set of adoped regulations in this area. In addition, entrepreneurs were reminded of the need to install gas and dust capturing equipments in industrial and public catering facilities, regularly maintain these equipments, clean filters, keep records and reports on emissions, and provide information to local  authorities that sit under the ministry of environment and natural resources.


During the meeting, proposals and challenges of business entities were explored, discussions were subsequently held around the topic at hand as well as aquestions of the enterprenuers were answered.
