A regular meeting of the Public Council under the SMBDA was held 29.06.21

On June 29, a regular meeting of the Public Council under the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) was held. At the meeting attended by the heads of non-governmental organizations and business associations – the Public Council members and the SMBDA representatives, the council’s activity, and measures to be taken in the future have been discussed.

Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov stressed that the Agency was interested in public participation in the organization’s activity and closely cooperated in this area with the Public Council under the SMBDA. It was noted that public discussions on various topics, arranged by the Public Council under the Agency, were an important platform in this area, contributing to the public-private dialogue.

The chairman of the Public Council under the Agency, chairman of the Association of Pomegranate Producers and Exporters Farkhad Garashov informed on the work done by the council over the past period and the forthcoming events.

At the meeting, issues on the agenda, as well as the Agency’s activity and mechanisms for supporting SMBs were discussed, opinions and proposals of the council members representing various sectors in relevant areas heard, and questions answered. A member of the Public Council under the SMBDA, chairman of the Azerbaijan Food and Beverage Industrialists Association Emin Dostiyari was elected secretary of the council.

Note that the Public Council under the SMBDA, operating since 2018, ensures public participation in the organization, implements measures related to the development of small and medium businesses, and exercises public control over the SMBDA’s activity. The Public Council is represented by 15 non-governmental organizations and business associations uniting hundreds of entrepreneurs.
