The selection of women entrepreneurs to take part in the "Power of Women in Business" project launched in 2022 has ended. 134 applications have been received to partake in the project implemented in partnership with the initiative and organization of Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and "Rabitabank" OJSC, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic, Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan and Marsol LLC. The Jury of the project selected 23 women entrepreneurs of Baku city and regions of the country. They work in agriculture, processing, was food, light, creative and other fields.
On January 30, the "Power of Women in Business" project was presented at "Baku SMB House". At the event held with the involvement of the organizers and partners of the project, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KOBİA, Aydin Huseynov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rabitabank OJSC, and Sakina Babayeva, Chairwoman of the Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, provided information about the importance of the project and the measures to be implemented within the framework thereof.
It was mentioned that "Women's Power in Business" project aims to provide support for enhancing the role of women entrepreneurs in the country's economy, boost their business performance, bring about favourable conditions for the establishment of relations in raising awareness and expanding access to concessional financial resources. As a part of the project, trainings, production experience, "networking" events will be organized for women entrepreneurs. At the end of the project, support will be provided for the funding of the best 3 projects presented by the contestants (award for 1st place 5000 manats, 2nd place 3000 manats and 3rd place 2000 manats).
Subsequent to the event, the first training courses for the actors of the "Power of Women in Business" project were commenced. The representatives of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan gave information to women entrepreneurs about communication, leadership, dispute management and other topics, and addressed their questions. In addition, Sakina Babayeva, Chairwoman of the Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, gave a mentorship training.
Project partakers also got acquainted with the activities of "Baku SMB House" presented the services of state and private institutions to entrepreneurs in a single space.
