On March 5, events were organized in Ganja within the framework of the EU-funded technical assistance project "Improved Promotion and Marketing of Traditional Foods" beneficiary of which is the Ministry of Economy.
Rector of Azerbaijan State Agrarian University Ibrahim Jafarov spoke about the importance of the project at a seminar on traditional food, nutrition and healthy eating held at the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University. EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko said the project was implemented to support the promotion of traditional local agricultural and food products in local and foreign markets.
Within the framework of the project, the curriculum "Traditional food products, nutrition and healthy eating of Azerbaijan" developed together with the Ministries of Economy and Education, with the participation of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy was presented to the participants.
Then, in cooperation with the Ganja Regional Tourism Information Center, a joint event was organized with the Ganjasanat Art and Crafts Fair. The event, held at the Urban Center of the Ganja State Philharmonic, provided detailed information about the traditional food heritage, and presented the products of small food producers operating in Ganja and surrounding regions.
During the event, which was accompanied by a cultural program, the guests were informed about our local products, national cuisine and the concept of "From land to table and traditional food."
It should be noted that the technical assistance project "Improved promotion and marketing of traditional food products" is being implemented by the European Union and the Ministry of Economy since May 2019. The project covers Baku, as well as Ganja-Dashkasan, Gazakh-Tovuz, Guba-Khachmaz, Central Aran, Mil-Mugan and Shirvan-Salyan economic regions.
