The event convened to discuss the present landscape and prospects regarding "green innovations" and their implications for the nation's economy, businesses, and the environment.
As is known, in 2024, our country declared "The Year of Solidarity for a Green World," and the 29th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in Azerbaijan. This increased an attention to the concepts of "green economy" and "green innovations." This dual recognition has further spotlighted the principles of the "green economy" and "green innovations." The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) routinely arranges informative meetings and training sessions for entrepreneurs to heighten their understanding of the "green economy," "green energy," and the significance of "green innovations" within the context of environmental concerns.
Under the auspices of KOBİA, the subsequent event was devoted to exploring "Current Opportunities, Challenges, and Prospects in the Development of Green Innovations". Nearly 80 SMBs, along with representatives from various governmental bodies such as the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Economy, State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Agency for the Development of Economic Zones, State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Entrepreneurship Development Fund, "Clean City" OJSC, and delegates from the Association of Ecological Clean Product Producers and Exporters, actively participated in an online meeting.
Within the framework of the meeting, government agencies delivered presentations on various aspects including the "green economy", projects, and innovations underway in this domain, the present state and future prospects of "green innovations," their impact on the national economy, business, and the environment, as well as discussions on topics such as eco-friendly product manufacturing and collaboration between entrepreneurs and universities. Furthermore, during the meeting, entrepreneurs' challenges and suggestions regarding the implementation of "green innovations" were addressed, and their questions of interest were answered.
Efforts will carry on to raise awareness among SMEs about the concepts of the "green economy" and "green innovations" and to promote their implementation in business.
