Azerbaijan and Qatar to expand ties using potential in the field of SMB 25.12.19

Faisal bin Abdullah Hamad Abdullah Al Hinzab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA).

The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between the two countries and the work carried out to expand the relations. It was likewise highlighted that both countries have great potential in the field of small and medium businesses at the meeting with Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of SMBDA.

The parties exchanged views at the meeting and shared information on the support for micro, small and medium businesses in Azerbaijan and activities of SMBDA in this area. The Ambassador of the State of Qatar highly assessed the economic reforms implemented in Azerbaijan and the work done to strengthen the SMB sector in our country.

Parties discussed the development of relations between SMBDA and authorities working with SMBs in Qatar, a visit to Qatar in 2020 to get acquainted with the achievements and share experience in the relevant field, a business forum within the next meeting of the Joint Economic Trade and Technical Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar, the mutual exchange of investment projects, establishment of joint ventures with the participation of Qatari businessmen in the country, opportunities for participation of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs in international events to be organized related to SMBs in Qatar next year, and establishment of a Joint Business Council at the meeting.
