In March of this year, funding the winning projects of the 3rd grant competition announced by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) for funding projects of micro, small and medium entities in the fields of education, science, research and support has been commenced.
"Kuleko - creation of a new type of wind energy turbines", a project of "Kuleko" LLC, was one of the 13 winning projects.
"Kuleko" LLC reported that the new wind turbine differs from conventional wind generators in that it has a horizontal axis and has special fixed panels (these panels are also patented). Classic vertical-axis wind generators consist of "fan-like" devices that must rotate, or "find the wind", depending on the direction of the wind. Such generators therefore require an additional rotating mechanism to find the wind.
The new device is completely different and sits horizontally - parallel to the ground. As a result, it rotates across all wind directions and takes up less space. As a result, multiple such devices can be installed in a single location.
The dimensions of the generator depend on its place. Currently, work is underway on a 2.5x2.5 meter minimal working model.
"Kuleko" comes in two models – on with battery (off-grid) and without battery (on-grid). The advantage of the battery option is that the energy harnessed during the operation of the device while in operation is stored in the battery and the stored energy can be used even in the absence of wind.
