Azerbaijani startups competed for the attention of Visegrad investors

"V4-Azerbaijan Tech Bridge (V4ATB)" program brought together innovation ecosystem partakers from Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.


An event dedicated to the results of the "V4-Azerbaijan Tech Bridge (V4ATB)" startup program implemented in Azerbaijan since 2022 was held.


Participators of the innovation ecosystem from Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, ambassadors of the particular countries attended the event.


It is worth noting that the program, which is implemented at the initiative of the Embassy of Poland in Azerbaijan, is supported by the Visegrad Group countries ((V4) – the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland) operating in our country, as well as a consortium of partners from Azerbaijan, embassies of the abovementioned countries in Azerbaijan. The program is funded by the International Visegrad Fund. The program is also supported by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA). The program aims to expand cooperation in the field of innovation by collecting the participants of the Visegrad Group and the start-up ecosystem from Azerbaijan.


Speaking at the event, Rafal Poborski, Ambassador of Poland to Azerbaijan, Milan Sedlacek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Tamas Torma, Ambassador of Hungary, Milan Laycak, Ambassador of Slovakia, Rufat Atakishiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the KOBİA, and Paulina Brym-Ciuba, Chief Operating Officer of Startup Hub Poland Foundation shared their views on the program and wished success to Azerbaijani startups that were involved in the project.


It was mentioned that over 160 startups applied for the 18-month program. Among them, 10 best start-up projects were selected and presented to an international jury of investors, "business angels", bank representatives, mentors and experts from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and other countries. During the program, a number of meetings, trainings, "demo days", networking events, etc. were held.


The 10 best projects included in the program were announced as part of the event, and experts from the Visegrad countries shared their views on startup development experience, investor expectations and existing support tools at a panel discussion.


At the end of the panel discussion, "Murmur" platform was selected as the winner of the "V4-Azerbaijan Tech Bridge (V4ATB)" program. The winning startup will be part of the prestigious "Deep Tech CEE Challenge" event to be held in Warsaw in November 2023 with the financial support of the Polish Embassy in our country.
