Conference held on “State instutions` role in protecting consumer rights"

Joint initiatives of state institutions and entrepreneurs for protecting consumer rights are of paramount importance.

A conference on "State institutions` in protecting consumer rights" organized by the State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy was held.

At the event dedicated to the World Consumer Rights Protection Day, the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) Orkhan Mammadov delivered his insights on the joint efforts of public and private institutions in expanding relations between business entities and consumers and protecting consumers' rights. It was highlighted that one of the key tasks set towards forming and protecting the domestic market is to provide the current demand with high-quality products at the expense of local production, and protect consumer rights in this field. It is also of substantial importance to expand the relations of entrepreneurs with other stakeholders to protect the rights of consumers in our country. The fact that business entities are also taking initiative in this field is noteworthy. In conjunction with administrative measures, educating entrepreneurs and implementing other support measures are of paramount importance towards protecting the consumers` rights. Various educational events are held by KOBİA for entrepreneurs operating in the production and service sector to put forward products and services that meet high quality and relevant standards for consumers. Furthermore, KOBİA regularly engages in supporting the involvement of SMB entities in exhibitions and fairs, and the expansion of the sale of their products in trade networks.
