During the visits, meetings were held with relevant entities of Oman and Qatar, as well as representatives of KOBİA participated in the various events.
The representatives of Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) paid a visit to Oman with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Sultanate of Oman to discuss cooperation opportunities in the field of SMB and to participate in the 5th Duqm Forum.
KOBİA representatives met with Salim Al-Zawawi, Chairman of the SMB Development Fund, and Qais Al-Toubi, Vice President of the SMB Development Administration in Muscat. During the meetings, avenues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Oman in the field of entrepreneurship development were hashed out, including the organization of joint training programs to enhance the capacities of SMBs, conducting networking events to connect businesses from both regions, and the arrangement of trade missions, as well as an exchange of experiences in supporting SMBs.
Within the framework of visit, KOBİA representatives participated in the 5th Duqm Forum. During the panel discussion on “Investing Global Technologies and Practices to Promote the Blue Economy” at the forum, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the KOBIA Management Board, shared insights on opportunities for SMEs in the blue economy and the activities of KOBIA.
During the visit to Qatar, a roundtable was organized in Doha by KOBIA and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of "Marsol Group" and the National Association of Businessmen's Society (ICMA), and attended by more than 60 businesspeople from Azerbaijan and Qatar. Within the framework of the visit, KOBİA representatives also met with Khalid Abdulla Al-Mana, Executive Director of the Qatar Development, Export, Finance, and Promotion Agency (Tasdeer) under the Qatar Development Bank, and Sara Abdallah, Director General of the Qatar Businessmen Association.
During the meetings, discussions were conducted on the current collaboration between Azerbaijani and Qatari entrepreneurs, opportunities for expanding business relations, and the cultivation of ties between KOBİA and relevant entities to further enhance connections between SMBs in both countries. Additionally, during the visit, a meeting was held between KOBİA and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs.The discussions focused on expanding business cooperation with Gulf countries and enhancing trade relations.
