Event held on "Women's power in the economy" 03.03.23

An event on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held with the organization of the Azerbaijan Women's Entrepreneurship Development Association (AQSIA) and the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).

Officials and women entrepreneurs representing various sectors of the economy took part in the event.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov delivered a speech on the role of women entrepreneurs in the economy and employment, as well as the support and services provided to business entities by the Agency. Currently, both globally and in our country, more and more women are interested in starting small businesses and self-employment. Statistics exhibit that, 22% of registered private entrepreneurs in our country account for women category. Among them, women entrepreneurs involved in agriculture, trade and other fields prevail. Women, who are eager to start a business and to expand their entrepreneurial activity, are encouraged to benefit from support and services provided by KOBİA such as training, consulting, international training, access to financial resources and sales markets, grant, internal market research, "Startup" certificate, etc.

Also, educational events are regularly organized by the Agency to provide women with information on innovations in the field of entrepreneurship, support mechanisms, and to study their ideas and proposals.

Speaking at the event, Sakina Babayeva, Chairperson of the Board of AQSIA, Tahir Mirkishili, Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Hijran Huseynova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Affairs of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mammad Musayev, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Women in Azerbaijan, Zarifa Guliyeva, a member of the Board of the Women`s Entrepreneurship Development Association in Azerbaijan shared their opinions on the role of women in the social-political, socio-economic life of our country, the attention paid by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to the promotion of the role of women in society and the development of women's entrepreneurship.
