Development of agriculture, objectives to be realized in this field, state support measures, cooperation of the private sector with farmers, production of competitive agricultural products, access to markets were subjects of discussion at the event on "Provision of support farmers and public-private sector cooperation".
An event on "Provision of support farmers and public-private sector cooperation" was held in collaboration with the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the Veysaloglu Group of Companies.
Representatives of state agencies, 150 farmers, representatives of agricultural companies and financial institutions attended the event.
At the event, Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), Aydin Talibov, founder of Veysaloglu Group of Companies, and Burak Deniz, executive director of the Group of Companies, respectively, briefed about the development of agriculture, goals to be achieved in this field, state support measures and concessions, as well as cooperation of the private sector with farmers. The remarks made at event also focused on production of competitive agricultural products, crucial elements for this, access to markets, and the role of the private sector in this sphere.
During the presentation of Veysaloglu Group of Companies' "From Field to Shelf" strategy, it was underlined the number of cooperating farmers has surpassed 190 that as a result of the initiative launched with 52 farmers. During the months of January to November 2023, the Group of Companies purchased around 50,000 tons of agricultural products from farmers and sold them in the "Araz" and "OBA" market chains.
The panel discussion "Public-private sector cooperation" held as part of the event focused on stimulating the manufacture of agricultural products, providing consumers with high-quality and affordable local products, boosting the sustainability of the supply chain by reducing reliance on imports, promoting the development of micro, small and medium businesses, and farmers` proposals were heard.
Additionally, at the event, farmers shared their cooperation experiences with the private sector and underlined that due to the "cold chain" established by the Group of Companies, they no longer needed to spend time or funds to travel to Baku to sell their products, and that sales were acccomplished by the virtue of delivering their products to the company's regional warehouses.
At the event, 13 small farmers were given hardware and equipment for the production of agricultural products.
