Implementation of next project launched to support the development of beekeeping in Dashkasan district

Bee farmers will be provided with bee families, appropriate medicines and required assets.

 

With the organization of "AzerGold" CJSC and the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), the implementation of the next project to support the development of beekeeping in Dashkasan district has been launched.

 

As part of the project organized for the second year, a meeting was held in Ganja City Youth House with engagement of a group of small bee farmers living in Chovdar, Gushchu, Bayan villages and Shadakh area of Dashkasan district. The meeting, which was attended by Ilgar Jalilov, adviser of "AzerGold" CJSC, Anar Aliyev, coordinator of KOBİA for the Ganja-Gazakh Economic Region, as well as representatives of regional organizations, aims to gather rural bee farmers and identify the available infrastucture  and means for farmers to benefit from the project.

 

At the event, the challenges faced by bee farmers while performing beekeeping activities and ways to cope with them were discussed, ideas were exchanged on initiatives, and suggestions were made. The beekeepers were told that the project is implemented within the scope of the Social Impact and Responsibility Policy in Dashkasan district, where "AzerGold" CJSC performs active production and manufacturing activities, and the project aims to contribute to the development of the small business ecosystem in Dashkasan district, the promotion of beekeeping as a type of eco-entrepreneurship, and increase of natural honey production, thereby improving the socio-economic status of local communities.

 

To this end, in the term of the implementation of the project, it is planned to   involve  bee farmers in the theoretical and practical trainings, organization of workshops on spring care for bees, in parallel, hold seminars for the project actors on organizational, legal and economic measures implemented by the state  over the development of  entrepreneurship , access to efficient financial resources for business entities, and organization of agrarian insurance business by “AzerGold” CJSC and KOBİA.

Bee farmers who have successfully completed the training and seminars will be provided with certificates, as well as bee families, appropriate medicines, and essential assets for the development of their individual farms.

 

It must be highlighted that the project "Support to the development of beekeeping in Dashkasan district" was implemented for the first time on March 31 - April 28, 2022. 24 bee farmers operating in the villages of Chovdar, Bayan, Guschu and Zaylik took part in the trainings organized within the scope of the project. The beekeepers who took part in the training and practical exercises were given certificates, and 120 bee families fully equipped with the required assets and appropriate medicines. Moreover, nectar-producing acacia trees were planted in Dashkasan district.
