JICA representatives got acquainted with the mechanisms of support for local SMEs

Meetings and events are underway to share Azerbaijan's experience in the field of micro, small and medium enterprises. During visit to our country representatives of the Georgian office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) got acquainted with the support and services provided to SMEs.


JICA representatives at the Khachmaz SME House were informed that the SME houses are part of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA). Currently, there are two SME houses in Khachmaz and Yevlakh. Khachmaz SME House provides about 250 services to entrepreneurs by public and private organizations. In 2021, more than 27,000 business entities and potential entrepreneurs applied to Khachmaz SME House. The level of satisfaction of entrepreneurs with the services is 98%. In the near future, "Baku SME House" will be put into operation for entrepreneurs. The Khachmaz SME House also has an SME Development Center (SMEDC) that provides business training and consulting services to entrepreneurs, and an SME friend office that provides on-site services to entrepreneurs. At present, SMEDCs cover 21 cities and regions of the country, and the SME friend network covers 33 cities and regions.
