KOBİA and Serbia’s Development Agency Approve a Roadmap for SME Cooperation for 2026–2027

A number of activities are outlined in the Roadmap signed in Belgrade.

Within the framework of the 9th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia, held in Belgrade, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) approved a Roadmap on cooperation.

The document envisages the organization of activities toward the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation signed in 2022 between KOBİA and the Development Agency of Serbia. Covering the years 2026–2027, the Roadmap includes support for establishing connections between Azerbaijani and Serbian SMEs, SME-related events, exchange of information and best practices on effective support mechanisms and business opportunities for SMEs, the development of cooperation between SME-related institutions, mutual sharing of available information, support for participation in events organized by both sides, and other areas of collaboration.

At the Intergovernmental Commission meeting and the Azerbaijan–Serbia Business Forum, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in SME development. He noted that the exchange of experience on the SME House model and Serbia’s joining of the Baku Climate Declaration, promoted at KOBİA’s initiative, would contribute significantly to bilateral cooperation.

The Chairman also provided information on the Agency’s activities and the support and services provided to SMEs.
