The efforts will persist in establishing new incentive mechanisms to enhance the involvement of SMBs in the "green economy".

The "Raising Ambitions and Driving Action: COP29 Sustainable Business Forum" was held in Baku. The event, attended by representatives from local manufacturing enterprises, international organizations, and government agencies, addressed the transition towards a zero-carbon future, the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change for the private sector in Azerbaijan, and the pivotal role of entrepreneurs in driving this transformative process.

The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) was also represented in the panel discussion titled "Enhancing Business Sustainability: Private Sector Strategies to Combat Climate Change", organized within the framework of the forum. In his speech at the event, Mr. Rufat Atakishiyev, Deputy Chairman of the KOBİA Management Board, outlined the advantages of "green business" for SMBs and discussed the Agency's initiatives in this realm. It was highlighted that implementing efficient and cost-saving technologies in production, along with integrating green innovations into business processes, generates a positive impact on cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and the competitiveness of SMB entities. Aligning the production process with environmental protection standards and manufacturing green products serves to enhance business export potential and facilitate access to financial resources. KOBİA strives to promote the transition of SMBs to a "green economy" through various support mechanisms such as training, consultancy, grants, etc. Efforts will persist in creating new incentive mechanisms aimed at bolstering the role of SMBs in the "green economy".
