Meeting with the entrepreneurs of greenhouse farmsteads held with the participation of SMBDA 16.11.19

A meeting was held with the owners of greenhouses engaged in the production of fruits and vegetables in Zira settlement of Khazar district within the platform on State-Entrepreneur Dialogue.

At the meeting organized with the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan,"Azerigaz" Production Union, Khazar District Executive Power, Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters of Azerbaijan, as well as 70 representatives of the greenhouse farmsteads, entrepreneurs comments were taken into account, their questions about the price and quality of gas provided to greenhouses and other issues were answered, and some of the issues raised were promptly solved.

Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of SMBDA, who attended the meeting, said greenhouses that have a significant share in the non-oil sector, play an important role in ensuring employment and increasing exports. Greenhouses have a special weight in the economy of Khazar district. It was noted that this sector is also in the spotlight of SMBDA. Recently, representatives of Azerigaz Production Union and SMBDA have held productive discussions with entrepreneurs operating in Shamkir district, and most of the issues that concern entrepreneurs have been resolved promptly.

Chairman of SMBDA also said that “SMB Friend” operates in Khazar district, the issues raised at today's meeting will be kept in focus by "SMB Friend" and support will be provided to resolve them, and individual meetings will be held in the greenhouse farmsteads of entrepreneurs.

At the end of the discussions, it was noted that meetings in this format would continue, farmers and entrepreneurs would be informed about undertaken activities to address the issues raised.
