Online meeting with Saatli entrepreneurs held

On January 15, a meeting was held between the entrepreneurs engaged in Cotton Production in Saatli district and the sectoral business associations with the organizational support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA). Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Saatli District Executive Authority and municipalities, SMBDA, Entrepreneurship Development Fund, Azerbaijani Association of Furniture Manufacturers, and 20 entrepreneurs engaged in Cotton Production in Saatli district took part in the online meeting.

At the online event, discussions were held on the use of the cotton plant body as a raw material in the furniture industry and manufacture of semi-finished boards, various opinions and suggestions were voiced, and the need for thorough research in this field was stressed. Also, proposals on the establishment of enterprises for processing of fiber-free cotton seeds and the development of oil products from cotton seeds, sunflower, and corn crops were brought to the attention. It was noted that research should be carried out for the establishment of these enterprises, economic efficiency and competitiveness of products should be evaluated.

At the event, questions of entrepreneurs were answered within the framework of the public-private partnership  platform, and it was noted that during January-March, SMBDA will organize various educational and awareness-raising events on the internal market research for entrepreneurs of Saatli district.
