At the event, participants were informed about the essence of the new technical regulations, their impact on consumer satisfaction, and their implementation mechanisms. Participants’ views and suggestions were also reviewed.
A public hearing and discussion on draft technical regulations prepared by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan - “On Requirements for Motor and Aviation Gasoline, Diesel, Marine and Jet Engine Fuels, and Fuel Oil,” “On Requirements for Liquefied Hydrocarbon Gases Used as Fuel,” “On the Safety of Gas-Fired Equipment,” as well as the draft regulation “On the Safety of Natural Combustible Gas Prepared for Transportation and/or Use” developed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations - was held at the “Baku SME House” through the joint organization of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).
Head of the Department of Standardization, Technical Regulation and Certification of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, Elmaddin Guluyev, and Deputy Head of KOBİA’s SME Friend Department, Rauf Taghiyev, delivered speeches at the event.
Their remarks highlighted the opportunities these draft technical regulations create in terms of enhancing product safety and quality in the domestic market, protecting consumer rights, and improving competitiveness for business entities. Stakeholders were also encouraged to actively participate in the public hearing and share their views on the draft regulations.
During the event, presentations were delivered by Elchin Abdulla, Head of Sector at the Ministry of Energy, and Eldar Ahmadov, Head of the Department for Supervision over the Safe Execution of Works at Liquid and Natural Gas Facilities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The presentations covered the scope of the draft technical regulations, key safety requirements, their application in the conformity assessment process, and their role in improving quality standards.
The question-and-answer session held at the end of the meeting continued with active discussions, and participants’ feedback and proposals were heard.
For information, the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control will continue to implement a series of activities aimed at ensuring active stakeholder participation in the development of technical regulations, including the organization of public hearings and discussions on other new national technical regulation drafts.
Within the framework of the State Program on Aligning the National Standardization System with International Requirements for 2023–2025, approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 43 national draft technical regulations have been prepared by relevant state bodies. Currently, 33 draft technical regulations have been posted on the Agency’s official website for public hearing and discussion to collect stakeholder feedback:
