Results of the 7th Grant Competition Announced for the Financing of SME Projects

Over 500,000 AZN in grants will be allocated to 30 projects submitted by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The results of the 7th grant competition, announced for the financing of education, science, research, and support projects by micro, small, and medium-sized business entities, have been made public. Following the evaluation of submissions, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) has decided to allocate over 500,000 AZN in total to 30 selected projects.

The winning projects encompass a range of sectors, including agriculture, industry, alternative energy, environmental protection, services, education, finance, and others. These projects aim to introduce and enhance new products and services, develop digital solutions, conduct research, and pursue various other initiatives.

At today’s meeting of the Expert Commission, established for the evaluation of the projects, it was noted that a total of 287 applications were submitted to the 7th grant competition by SME entities. Of these, 89 belonged to legal entities and 198 to individuals; specifically, 275 of the applications came from micro-enterprises and 12 from small businesses. The project submissions included 85 in the field of education, 24 in science, 48 in research, and 130 support-oriented projects.

It should be noted that the application period for the 7th grant competition, aimed at supporting education, science, research, and support projects by micro, small, and medium-sized business entities, ran from April 15 to May 14, 2025. The evaluation and expert review of the projects took place between May 16 and June 16, 2025. During the evaluation process, the Expert Commission assessed each project based on the criteria approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on September 30, 2020. These criteria included the project's potential contribution to the development of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, its innovativeness, the soundness of its concept, its applicability to practical purposes, the availability of relevant experience and technical infrastructure for implementation, and other similar factors.

Each winning project will receive up to 20,000 AZN in financial support.

Detailed information about the winning projects is available on the official KOBİA website: https://smb.gov.az/az/nav/qrant
