Within the scope of the "Development of entrepreneurship and self-employment in villages" project, rural guesthouses were provided with the necessary assets.
As part of the "Development of Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment in Villages" project, 17 houses owned by villagers in Astara, Lerik and Lankaran districts have started operating as village guesthouses. 6 of the guesthouses are located in Astara, 8 in Lerik and 3 in Lankaran district. Under the project, rural guesthouses were given the essential assets within the scope of the self-employment program.
17 villagers took part in trainings on business and tourism, including developing a business plan, guesthouse management and customer satisfaction, sales, methods of welcoming guests, ensuring cleaning and hygiene, safety rules in guesthouses, conducting management of nutrition and social media. Meanwhile, they were rendered with business management and tourism consulting, business development mentoring services.
The project, implemented with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), the State Employment Agency and the State Tourism Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, aims to promote entrepreneurship in the regions, ensure self-employment, support tourism in rural areas and improve the welfare of residents.
The Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov and the Head of the Executive Power of Lerik District Akbar Abbasov paid a visit to rural guesthouses in Lerik and got acquainted with their activities.
It is worth noting that the "Development of entrepreneurship and self-employment in villages" project was launched in 2021, and first 15 village guesthouses were built in Ismayilli district and given appropriate assets. In the second phase of the project, more than 220 villagers from different regions were registered and among them, those who met the criteria were selected. A total of 50 rural guesthouses were built in Guba-Khachmaz, Lankaran-Astara and Sheki-Zagatala economic regions.
