SMB Friend launched in Aghsu

A meeting with entrepreneurs was held in Aghsu district organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).


The meeting aims to explore the needs of entrepreneurs operating in Aghsu in the field of business establishment and development, heed to the challenges they encounter, provide them with information inform on the mechanisms of state support, including the support and services of KOBİA.


In the framework of the event held with the engagement of entrepreneurs of Aghsu and representatives of state institutions providing services to business entities, the SMB-Friend project, which was launched to provide support to entrepreneurs on the ground, was presented to the business community of the region. Aghsu SMB Friend is currently the 3rd SMB Friend operating in the Mountainous Shirvan economic region. Overall, SMB Friends, who are representatives of KOBİA in the regions, currently cover 39 cities and districts of the country.


At the meeting with the entrepreneurs, the Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov pointed out to the importance of the SMB Friend network in terms of providing on-site support to business entities. It was noted that SMB Friends are active in areas such as realization of business initiatives of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, protection of entrepreneurial interests, establishment and development of new SMB entities, providing information on state support mechanisms for entrepreneurs, coordination with state institutions. Stating the potential of district of Aghsu for business development, Orkhan Mammadov emphasized the support of SMB Friends for the realization of this economic potential, and encouraged entrepreneurs to actively cooperate with SMB Friends.


The head of Aghsu District Executive Power, Rovshan Bagirov, said that as a result of the successful socio-economic policy pursued in our country, the regions are developing and there are exquisite opportunities for further expansion of entrepreneurial activity in the district. 


It was stated that entrepreneurs and those who have just started entrepreneurship activity will be able to benefit from the opportunities offered by SMB Friend.


As part of the event, video footages were displayed on the support mechanisms provided by the Agency to SMBs, and questions from event actors were addressed.


Afterwards, the event actors got acquainted with the SMB Friend`s office located in the Aghsu Young Artists Center. Favourable conditions are already available for providing services to entrepreneurs in the SMB Friend`s office. "SMB volunteers" also work in this space.


Subsequent to the event, the participants paid a visit to the "Aghsu Agropark". It is worth highlighting that the agropark specializing in agriculture and animal husbandry has been operating since 2018. At present, nearly 200 permanent workers are employed in the agricultural park. A seed farm also operates on the territory of the enterprise. The products of "Aghsu Agropark" are aimed at meeting the needs of the domestic market. As part of visiting the agropark, views were exchanged on the needs of entrepreneurs and export possibilities of products.
