SMBDA and EBRD held discussions on cooperation

Representatives of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan met with senior officials of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London on March 6 during a visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

At the meetings organized between Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of SMBDA, and John Seed, EBRD Head of Sustainable Infrastructure Policy Unit,Marcos Martinez, authorized representative of the Bureau of Infrastructure Project Preparation, Karsten Sinner, Head of Infrastructure Funds, information was provided about the activities of the Agency, the development of the SMB sector in our country, the work executed in this field, and discussions were held with EBRD on cooperation in the field of SMB and public-private partnership (PPP). The meeting particularly highlighted issues on cooperation in fields such as supporting the capacity building of the Center for Development of Public-Private Partnerships established under SMBDA, PPP projects that can be financed by banks, as well as operational standards for SMBs, access to financial resources, application of innovative practice and technology, promotion of trade, and the development of women entrepreneurship.
