The Memorandum of Understanding provides for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the field of small and medium entrepreneurship, export and industry data exchange, the arrangement of joint business missions and other events, etc.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed as part of the Russian business mission for the development of urban infrastructure “Smart city”, arranged by the Russian Export Center. Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov shared his views on the participation of SMBs in the “Smart city” projects and expanding ties between local and Russian SMBs. The potential for implementing joint projects based on the "Smart city" concept with the participation of Azerbaijani and Russian entrepreneurs, and especially SMBs was noted. This approach will enhance the role of SMBs in the supply chain, create new joint ventures and expand the implementation of innovative solutions. The use of the public-private partnership model in this direction can increase the efficiency of implementation and the intensity of financing such projects. The Chairman of SMBDA also provided information on the Agency’s activity and cooperation with the relevant Russian agencies in the field of SMBs. It was noted that Russian businessmen can use the SMBDA’s support and services to establish cooperation with local SMBs and develop existing ties, as well as implement joint initiatives.
