Panel discussions on the topic "Current development of the global economy and prospects for the development of trade between the Turkic countries" were held as part of the Conference on Economy and Trade of the Turkic-speaking Countries, arranged in Istanbul by Turkey’s Ministry of Trade and the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK). The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) was also represented at the event.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov shared his views and proposals on the opportunities for cooperation between the business circles of the Turkic-speaking countries. It was noted that expanding the application of the public-private partnership (PPP) model with the involvement of investors from the Turkic-speaking countries, developing platforms for joint discussions between SMBs, the exchange of experience between relevant state agencies, and implementing joint initiatives would contribute to the growth of the volume and range of the trade turnover and the development of business ties between the Turkic-speaking countries. Orkhan Mammadov stressed that more than 50 % of applications, received by the SMBDA from investors interested in participating in projects implemented in the Karabakh region, come from the Turkic Council member countries and observers, invited entrepreneurs from Turkic-speaking countries interested in doing business in Azerbaijan, including the territories liberated from the occupation to cooperation with the SMBDA, and provided information on the support and services provided by the Agency.
