Support from entrepreneurs to football clubs within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility 30.04.25

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributes to societal development by positively impacting social, environmental, and economic spheres. It is also essential in encouraging business to acknowledge their responsibilities towards society and support sustainable development.

Recently, entrepreneurs who operating in Sabirabad district demonstrated the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility again. Meanwhile “Sabirabad Football Club” LLC, established in 2014 applied to the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and stated the financial support to continue its activity. With the initiative of the Agency, meetings are hold on the cooperative relations between football club and entrepreneurs. One of local business entities, Omega Clinic LLC, responded positively to the request and signed a sponsorship agreement with the football club in order to support it activity. Other entrepreneurs active in Sabirabad also expressed their willingness to contribute to the club’s ongoing activities.

This initiative not only support the continuity of the football club but also reflects the contribution of local entrepreneurs to the development of sports in Sabirabad, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and youth engagement in sports. Such efforts foster increased cooperation among entrepreneurs and make a positive impact on regional development.

It should be noted that CSR practices began to be implemented worldwide since 1970s and initial CSR activities were related to the various emergency cases and ecological accidents. Later, CSR evolved into a broader concept encompassing business’ fulfillment of their social responsibilities. Today, CSR is an integral part of international companies’ operations, and its scope has significantly expanded. Companies engaged in CSR not only fulfill their social obligations, but also derive long-term benefits, including increased customer satisfaction, enhanced corporate image, and improved investment attractiveness.

While CSR initiatives in our country were historically implemented primarily by large corporations, in recent years, SMBs have also become increasingly active in this field. Nonetheless, major companies continue to play a leading role. Today local enterprises are launching notable CSR initiatives not only in social and environmental spheres but also across various other domains.
