During the online meeting, information was provided on KOBIA’s support mechanisms for entrepreneurs, and prospects for mutual cooperation were discussed.

An online meeting was held between representatives of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA), the Director General of Syria’s Small and Medium Business Development Authority, Ihab Zukur, and Azerbaijan’s Chargé d’Affaires ad interim in Damascus, Elnur Shahhuseynov.

The meeting covered detailed information on KOBIA’s SME Houses model, the services delivered through SME Development Centers, the “Start-up” certificate, and SME clusters. It was noted that the Agency’s support mechanisms, such as grant competitions and market research initiatives, contribute to the development of entrepreneurship in the country and help strengthen SMEs’ positions in the market.

Discussions also focused on Syria’s interest in benefiting from and implementing KOBIA’s experience, as well as promoting trade and investment cooperation between Azerbaijani and Syrian SMEs, organizing and regulating service delivery for SMEs, and conducting an exchange of best practices in these areas.
