The "Agro-I" competition starts

With the financial support of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Partnership and Coordination Office in Azerbaijan of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) are jointly organizing the "Agro-I" competition. The organizers of the competition are the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency (AKIA) under the Ministry of Agriculture, the FAO-Azerbaijan Office and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) under the Ministry of Economy.


The main purpose of the competition is to support the increase of agricultural employment of young people living in the regions, to identify agrarian, innovative business initiatives. Competitors will be provided with relevant assets (tools and equipment) in accordance with the business plans they submit, as well as support services provided by the competition partners.


Terms of the competition:

The financial value of the equipment to be purchased under the project is set at a maximum of 10,000 (ten thousand) manats;

The competition is open to young farmers under the age of 35 living in the regions;

The business idea should be related to the field of agricultural activity;

Projects submitted to the competition must be prepared in the Azerbaijani language;

Each applicant (individually or in a group) has the right to submit only 1 project within the competition.

Document reception and information:


Those wishing to participate in the competition must send the following documents in electronic form to telman.askarov@fao.org:

1. Application form;

2. Business project;

3. Business plan financial evaluation;

4. A copy of the identity document of the applicant;

5. Relevant documents related to the farm where the project will be implemented (document confirming that the land is owned, used or leased by the applicant)

Acceptance of documents will continue until 18:00 on July 8, 2022. Applications submitted after this time will not be considered. Information on the results of the competition will be shared on the official websites of the partners and in the media.
