Documents on cooperation between the state institutions and companies of Azerbaijan and Vietnam have been signed.

The 1st meeting of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Business Council and a business forum were held in Hanoi, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Vietnam, and jointly organized by the Vietnam National Entrepreneurship Association (VINEN), the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO, the event was held on the eve of the 3rd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation.

The event was attended by officials from both countries, as well as businessmen and representatives of business associations operating in the food, agriculture, industry, textile, transport-logistics, and cotton sectors.

The event commenced with the national anthems of Vietnam and Azerbaijan. This was followed by the screening of a film dedicated to Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations.

In their speeches at the event, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long shared their views on the economic and trade relations between the two countries, the work carried out within the framework of the intergovernmental commission, and opportunities for cooperation, expressing their satisfaction with the development of ties in various sectors.

First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev provided information on trade, investment, and business relations between the two countries, as well as Azerbaijan’s favorable investment climate and potential cooperation opportunities, and noted the importance of mutual support in turning partnership into concrete results.

Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBIA, emphasized that the activities of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Business Council, established in 2025, will focus on supporting initiatives of entrepreneurs from both countries, fostering relations between businessmen, and organizing reciprocal visits and joint events for this purpose, inviting businessmen to closely cooperate with the Business Council.

Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO, spoke about the efforts made to strengthen Azerbaijan-Vietnam business relations with the initiative and support of the Agency. He highlighted AZPROMO's active role in the process of coordination between entrepreneurs, especially in order to expand cooperation in the light industry and textile sectors.

President of VINEN, Dinh Viet Hoa, stated that there is great potential for cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of entrepreneurship, and that the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Business Council will support the establishment of direct and effective relations between businessmen by utilizing the available opportunities. It was noted that the events to be held within the framework of the Business Council will contribute to mutual investment, expansion of trade relations and implementation of joint projects between our countries.

Within the framework of the event, memorandums of understanding on cooperation were signed between Azerbaijan’s State Agency on Renewable Energy Sources and Vietnam’s “Rox Group” JSC, between AZPROMO and VINEN, as well as between Azerbaijan’s “GP Cotton Holdings” and Vietnam’s “Phong Phu Corporation,” along with protocols of intent signed between Azerbaijan’s “Fresh-Meat” company and Vietnam’s “Thong Vu JSC. CO,” “ANC Group LLC,” and “Seven Centre” companies.

The event continued with panel discussions and B2B meetings on various topics. In this section, speeches and presentations were made by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, the Authorized Body of the Alat Free Economic Zone, the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Vietnam, VINEN, and the Department of Import and Export on the activities of the relevant institutions and opportunities for cooperation.
