The German-Azerbaijani joint program to improve the skills of managers continues in online format

The German-Azerbaijani Joint Program for Professional Development of Managers in the Azerbaijani Business Community, co-ordinated by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) in Azerbaijan and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Germany, continues online due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is made.

Online trainings have been launched under the program since August 17. 12 entrepreneurs and managers from Azerbaijan are participating in the trainings.

The program, implemented in 2009 based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy of Germany, aims to increase the knowledge and skills of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs in international business. So far, 442 entrepreneurs and managers operating in various sectors of the economy have received free training courses and internships at German training centers and enterprises, as well as gained international experience and expanded business contacts. From February 17 to March 13, 2020, a group of 20 people underwent training and internships at relevant production facilities in Munich, Germany. The next group was scheduled to take a refresher course in Germany in June 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the organization of advanced training in Germany has been temporarily suspended.
