The next meeting of the subgroup focusing on environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) standards was recently held.

The discussion was focused on implementation of the Roadmap for 2024 on stimulating and promotion of adoption of ESG principles and pending tasks within the framework of subgroup meeting on environmental, social, and corporate governance standards.

The next session of the subgroup on Environmental, social, and vcorporate governance (ESG) standards of the working group "Corporate governance, investments, and corporate social responsibility," led by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) of the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings took place on April 22.

The online meeting was attended by representatives from government agencies, as well as several public associations, domestic, and foreign consulting firms. 

Mr. Vusal Shikhaliyev, Head of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings, and Head of Sector for the Department of Economic Policy and Industrial Issues at the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, along with Mr. Natig Hasanov, First Deputy Chairman of the ESG Standards subgroup shared their views on the subgroup's upcoming period.

During the meeting, presentations and discussions focused on various topics including progress on the Roadmap for 2024 at encouraging and advancing the adoption of ESG principles, global trends related to ESG, development issues within the national context, opportunities for adoption of ESG principles, and upcoming priorities.
