The Next Meeting with Entrepreneurs Held in the Guba District

A meeting organized within the framework of state - entrepreneur cooperation provided an opportunity for an exchange of views with entrepreneurs on their proposals and needs for establishing and developing businesses.

A meeting with entrepreneurs operating in the district was held with the support of the Guba District Executive Authority and the organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA). The event brought together more than 100 participants, including entrepreneurs engaged in agriculture, intensive horticulture, tourism, industry, services, trade, public catering, beekeeping, and other fields, as well as representatives of government institutions.

At the meeting, Ilgar Mahmudov, Head of the Guba District Executive Authority, Member of Parliament Alibala Maharramzada; and Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, shared their views on entrepreneurial activity, the legal framework governing this field, and the realization of the district’s business potential through state support mechanisms.

It was noted that the Guba district is primarily specialized in fruit growing and horticulture. In recent years, the establishment of processing enterprises and the expansion of the tourism and services sector have been observed in the region. As in all regions, KOBİA supports the development of entrepreneurship in Guba within its mandate. By leveraging the district’s economic advantages, entrepreneurs can form local brands based on fruit and berry products and introduce new initiatives in agro-tourism and eco-tourism by utilizing the region’s tourism potential. Moreover, the application of efficient models, energy savings, and the integration of green technologies into business processes will be beneficial for entrepreneurs.

It was further emphasized that being informed about state support mechanisms, benefiting from preferential financing, export promotion, and other programs, and exploring new business directions aligned with the district’s potential are all advantageous for the local business community.

Afterwards, the proposals of the participating entrepreneurs were heard, and discussions were held on the sale of fruit and vegetable products, the establishment of processing enterprises, the procurement of small-capacity refrigerators for storing agricultural products, support for leasing land plots for beekeeping farms, as well as issues related to agro-tourism, irrigation, seedling production, infrastructure, and other matters. The questions of business entities were addressed.
