Veterinarians are preparing for the transition to private practice

The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) is supporting the transition of veterinarians to private practice as part of the “Improving the Agriculture Competitiveness” project implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture jointly with the World Bank. The project involves attracting 1,416 veterinarians from 52 regions to training in veterinary medicine and entrepreneurship. Training on business activity will be performed by the SMBDA’s SMB Development Centers.

The relevant training started on July 26 in the Kurdamir region. A total of 28 veterinarians will take part in the three-day training. At the training performed by the Agency’s Aghsu-Kurdamir SMB Development Center, veterinarians received appropriate information and recommendations for the transition to the entrepreneurial veterinary activity ones.

Pieces of training on the COVID-19 pandemic are held in groups of 10 persons.

Note that the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On some measures to improve the veterinary services" dated April 22, 2020, provides for the transition of veterinarians currently working for the state veterinary system to private practice. As part of the project, all trained veterinarians will be provided with veterinary appliances and equipment required for private practice.
