Within the framework of the visit to Turkey, KOBİA representatives attended the World Halal Summit and held a series of meetings.
Azerbaijani entrepreneurs participated in the 20th “MÜSİAD EXPO” International Trade Fair and the Halal Expo Exhibition held in Istanbul. With the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), the products and services of nearly 20 local entrepreneurs were showcased at the exhibitions. The products and services in the fields of food, industry, alternative and renewable energy, and perfumery were displayed at the special stands set up by KOBİA at the respective exhibitions. Also, the stands showcased information on Azerbaijan's investment and export opportunities, as well as the support and services available to entrepreneurs, through KOBİA and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO. The stands were visited by Omer Bolat, Turkey's Minister of Trade, and Elnur Aliyev, the First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
KOBİA representatives took part in the 10th World Halal Summit, a key event that brought together stakeholders from the halal industry to discuss emerging opportunities and explore potential avenues for collaboration in the sector. In his speech at the opening of the event, Orhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of KOBİA, emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation for the sustainable development of the halal industry, highlighting the need to focus on the integration of ethical standards and technological advancements in the sector’s future growth. The Chairman of KOBİA also pointed out that implementation of green technologies can significantly reduce the environmental impact, and provided information about the Agency's green initiatives and support tools for entrepreneurs. During the visit, KOBİA representatives also held several meetings.
Yunus Ete, the organizer of the World Halal Summit and "Halal Expo", Datuk Andi Muhammed Suryady Bin Bandy, Assistant Minister of Industry Development of Malaysia, Saifuzzaman Abdul Rahman, advisor to the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives, Mohammad Ibrahim, CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Bank, Mari Roz Faye, Chief Manager of the Senegal Agency for the Development of SMBs, and Nila Kumalasari, the head of the Indonesian Center for Halal Industry Strengthening discussed cooperation opportunities in the field of SMBs, strengthening SMBs and the transition to a green economy, as well as promoting innovation in entrepreneurship during their meetings.
Also, during the visit, KOBİA representatives capitalized on the the opportunity to observe the production process at "Helba Pharma," a company founded with Azerbaijani investment in Istanbul, which at present exports products to over 20 countries.
