Woman entreprenuers strengthening their role in economy with the state support

Almost 23% of entreprenuers in the country are woman. 

Women entrepreneurs, primarily operating in sectors such as service, trade, and industry, are increasingly contributing to sustainable economic development and employment. Recently, a women-led preschool education institution was opened in Ganja. "Laləli Bağça" operates not only in Ganja but also in Baku, Sumgayit, and Khirdalan cities. The establishment of this preschool network was supported by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA). The agency assisted the entrepreneur with documentation, coordination with state institutions, and various aspects of business development Currently, the preschool’s branches employ more than 40 staff members, demonstrating the entrepreneur’s role in promoting women’s employment. Future plans include expanding the workforce and extending operations to other regions.

For your information, KOBIA supports women for establishing their own business and expanding their entrepreneurship activity. In 2024 alone, more than 4,000 women entrepreneurs benefited from the agency’s training and advisory services to enhance their business knowledge and skills, while over 300 received assistance in developing business plans. More than 10 woman entrepreneur and managers benefited from international professional development program in Germany. Last year approximately 167,000 manats were granted to the implementation of the woman entreprenuers’ projects and about 8 women were awarded with the Startup certificates which granting tax exemptions for their innovative projects. In 2024, KOBIA supported nearly 250 women entrepreneurs in promoting their products and services by facilitating their participation in exhibitions, fairs, and trade networks. KOBIA also regularly organizes meetings to encourage women’s entrepreneurship and collaborates with partner organizations to implement targeted development programs for women entrepreneurs.
