Yet another meeting of the sub-group on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) standards was held

The sub-group will focus on continuing the ESG initiatives in the 2025 Roadmap, raising awareness in this field, promoting national standards, and improving the use of a unified ESG platform.

Yet another meeting of the sub-group on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) standards, part of the "Corporate Governance, Investments, and Corporate Social Responsibility" working group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, led by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) was held.

The online meeting was attended by representatives from nearly 30 state and private organizations, which are part of the sub-group.

Vusal Shikhaliyev, Head of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings and Sector Manager of the Economic Policy and Industry Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Natig Hasanov, Head of the sub-group on ESG standards and First Deputy Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, provided information on the work carried out within the sub-group and the planned activities. It was noted that in 2024, a national standard for ESG was adopted, a unified platform – www.esghub.az  was put into operation, and the portal was presented to the general public within the framework of COP29 held in Baku.

Several meetings of the sub-group have been conducted, and an ESG conference was also organized. The meeting also included the presentation on the effective management of the single ESG platform, and the discussion for the 2025 Roadmap for the sub-group was held. It was underscored that the sub-group's Roadmap for the upcoming year is poised to prioritize the sustainability of ESG initiatives, raising awareness in this field, advancing the promotion and wider adoption of the national standard, further developing the unified ESG platform, increasing the utilization of the portal, and establishing mechanisms for ESG reporting and promotion.
