On June 21, the Expert Council established to consider applications for a “Startup” certificate held its regular meeting. The meeting reviewed applications received by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) from businesses to obtain a “Startup” certificate on innovative solutions in the field of "smart devices" in the agricultural sector, banking and finance, e-commerce, and logistics.
The “Startup” certificate exempts SMBs from income tax and tax on income from innovation activity for 3 years from the date of receiving the certificate. This allows a startup to channel income for the development of startup projects and growth. The “Startup” certificate also increases the interest of local and foreign investors in the startup and facilitates access to overseas markets.
Note that business entities may apply a “Startup” certificate to SMBDA in writing or electronically. Based upon the applications for a “Startup” certificate, received by the Agency, meetings of the Expert Council consisting of representatives of various government agencies and independent experts are held monthly. The SMBDA also provides free consulting services to entrepreneurs on the “Startup” certificate obtaining procedures, as well as the preparation of appropriate documents.
